Hello! My name is Lisa Turner. I am a first grade teacher at Brandywine Heights Elementary School. Last year, I taught kindergarten and previously, I had been the Certified School Nurse at the elementary school. I love working with children! They are full of energy, wonder, and excitement!

I attended Bloomsburg University for my nursing degree and worked with children and families all of my nursing career. I loved taking care of them and helping in their progress of healing. I then attended Eastern College to earn my School Nurse Certification and Master’s degree. I worked as a school nurse in North Penn School District and also taught health at the college level. However, I had always wanted to be an elementary teacher. So, I returned to college in 2008 to pursue my elementary education certification at Moravian College. I completed my student teaching in 5th and 1st grade. At the completion of my student teacher, I became a long term substitute for the fifth grade class. The following year, I was so happy to get a job in Brandywine! I worked as a school nurse for two years and then became a kindergarten teacher!!

I have been married to my husband, Dave, for 21 years and we have two children. My son, Derek, is a freshman at Penn State University where he is majoring in business and is an Army ROTC cadet. My daughter, Dana, is a sophomore in high school. She enjoys playing field hockey and spending time with friends.

I am so happy to be teaching your child this year!! We will have a super year filled with lots of learning and fun!!
